Problem/Violation: NEC 373-2 Electrical enclosures installed outdoors shall be listed for a wet location.

Brief history review: When the Hilton Hotel was constructed the above contractor installed refrigeration �
compressors outdoors that are only approved to be installed indoors. While conducting a final inspection for the
hotel on 6/21/O1 the violation was noted. The owner& the installing contractor agreed that the violation would
be corrected within 30days. Although I have had several conversations with Mr. Jones the violations are not
getting corrected. His excuses for the violations not being corrected usually have to do with his schedule. I sent �
an additional correction notice on 6/20/02 in which Alec did call to tell me he would correct this situation in
about a month. To date we still do not have compliance and this installation could be detrimental to the owners
operation going into another winter because the compressors are not designed to start in cold winter conditions
and the electrical controls and enclosures are not designed for a exterior environment. F
