RE: Cooperative Purchase of Workstations- Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
Software Project
BACKGROUND
In the consent portion of the April 14, 2015 agenda you considered approval of the Tyler
Technologies Inc. professional service agreement for the ERP software package. The
implementation of the ERP project necessitated various workstation updates within several
offices including Finance, Collections, Accounting, Water Utility, City Clerks and General
Services.
ANALYSIS
The City of Oshkosh is a participating member of The Cooperative Purchasing Network(TCPN),
a national purchasing cooperative for state and local government entities. Purchasing determined
TCPN's cooperative purchasing contract with Business Interiors by Staples for AIISteel
workstations (Contract #R4971) provided workstations and designs that addressed the needs of
this project at a significant cost savings.
FISCAL IMPACT
This purchase will have a total fiscal impact of$39,000. Funding for these workstations would
be charged to the ERP CIP A/N#: 323-0110-7230-06526.
RECOMMENDATION
Section 12-15 of the Municipal Code provides that subject to approval of the City Manager,
cooperative purchases pursuant to a contract with any other local, state ar federal governmental
unit or agency may be made without following a competitive bidding or quotation process. In
accordance with Section 12-15 of the Municipal Code and because this cooperative purchase is in
excess of$25,000, I am hereby submitting a report of this purchase to the Common Council. If
you have any questions on this purchase please contact me or General Services Manager Jon
Urben.
