HomeMy WebLinkAbout90-240 AUGUST 2 , 1990 AUGUST 16, 1990 90-219 90-240 ORDINANCE FIRST READING SECOND READING (CARRIED LOST LAID OVER WITHDRAWN ) PURPOSE: AMEND ZONING ORDINANCE - RECREATIONAL EQUIPMENT INITIATED BY: DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PLAN COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: Approved 8-0 A GENERAL ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF OSHKOSH AMENDING VARIOUS SECTIONS OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE PERTAINING TO RECREATIONAL EQUIPMENT AND PROJECTIONS INTiO SE�'BACIiS The Common Council of the City of Oshkosh do ordain as follows : SECTION 1 . That new Section 30-1 (A) ( 122 ) is hereby created to read as follows : 122 . RECREATIONAL E9UIPMENT. Recreational equipment means equipment used by residents of a principal building for on- premises games and sports including but not limited to swings , slides , climbers , teeter-totters , playforts, sandboxes , basketball baskets and backboards , badminton nets and similar equipment, but not including recreational devices normally utilized off the premises , including but not limited to boats , boat trailers , campers , travel trailers and snowmobiles . SECTION 2 . That existing Sections 30-1 (A) ( 122 ) through ( 165 ) are hereby renumbered ( 123 ) through ( 166 ) consecutively. SECTION 3 . That Section 30-29( B) ( 3 ) , Projections into Setbacks , is hereby amended by adding thereto the following : (d) Flag poles, ornamental features , sidewalks , landscaping and associated structures, posts, or other similar amenities when accessory to a residential use. (e ) Recreational Equipment : When accessory to a resi�lential use, is permitted within rear yards, provided a five ( 5 ) foot setback is maintained from all lot lines . ( f) Basketball Backboard Structures in Front Yards . Standards : Basketball backboard structures are permitted within a front yard, provided a minimum setback of fifteen ( 15 ) feet is maintained from the front lot line and a five ( 5 ) foot se ac is m intained from the side lot line .
