PURPOSE: FLOODPLAIN ZONING ORDINANCE MAP AMENDMENT/BAUMAN ST.

A GENERAL ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF OSHKOSH AMENDING THE OFFICIAL FLOODPLAIN ZONING
MAP OF THE CITY OF OSHKOSH
WHEREAS, the Firm and Floodway Flood Insurance Rate Maps for the City of
Oshkosh, dated February 20, 1981, as revised, indicate the following described
property on the east side of Bauman St. , north of Van Buren Ave. and south of
Arthur Ave. , is within the floodway and floodfringe districts;
Sec 15, part of Sec 14 & 15 lying Ely of Baunan St., Wly of Harbor Line & betw ext N
line and ext centerline of Block 17, Oshkosh Land Co. Plat, 16th Ward, City of Oshkosh,
Winnebago Cotmty, Wisconsin.
and
WHEREAS, the property owner contends that said property was filled to the
elevations setforth in the attached "Exhibit A" prior to the year 1968, and that
said elevations are above the national floodplain elevations of 750 ft. adjusted
to convert to City of Oshkosh datum by adding 1.05 ft. thereto; and
WHEREAS, based on these elevations, the property owner requests that the above
described property be changed from floodway and floodfringe districts to a non-
floodplain designation; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing, after due and proper notice was held before the
Common Council of the City of Oshkosh concerning amendments to the Floodplain
Zoning Ordinance for the City of Oshkosh, and the Plan Commission having
recommended the adoption of this Ordinance.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Common Council of the City of Oshkosh do ordain as
follows:
SECTION 1. Based on the information submitted by the property owner, it is
determined that the above described property is not in the floodway and
floodfringe districts, and the City hereby approves amending said property to a
non-floodplain designation.
BECTION 2. This amendment is contingent upon the property owner obtaining all
appropriate approvals prior to the issuance of permits for the property in
question.
SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall be in effect upon its passage and publication
and upon final approval by the Wisconsin Departroent of Natural Resources.
