HomeMy WebLinkAbout14. 15-131 MARCH 24, 2015 15-131 RESOLUTION (CARRIED__7-0_____ LOST _______ LAID OVER _______ WITHDRAWN _______) PURPOSE: AWARD BID FOR MULTI-PURPOSE TRACTOR FOR STREET DIVISION TO INDUSTRIAL MARKETING & CONSULTING ($122,671.00) INITIATED BY: PURCHASING WHEREAS, the City of Oshkosh has heretofore advertised for bids for a multi-purpose tractor for the Street Division and WHEREAS, upon the opening and tabulation of bids, the following is the only bid: INDUSTRIAL MARKETING AND CONSULTING 516 D Avenue Gwinn, MI 49841 Total Bid with Trade: $122,671.00 WHEREAS, this bid meets the minimum specifications and staff has reviewed the bid and recommends its acceptance. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Oshkosh that the said bid is hereby accepted and the proper City officials are hereby authorized and directed to enter into an appropriate agreement for the purpose of same, all according to plans, specifications, and bid on file. Urben, General Services Manager DATE: March 10, 2015 RE: Bid Award-Multi-Purpose Tractor with attachments for Street Division BACKGROUND The Common Council allocated $125,000 in the 2015 CIP Major Equipment Budget for a new multi-purpose tractor with attachments far the Street Division. A new unit will replace the 2002 Stiga unit that continually experiences hydraulic pump breakdowns that eliminated its operational efficiency for the Street Division. This unit is used throughout the year by the Street Division for a variety of grounds and snow operations. Necessary attachments will include a 66" V-plow, sander, 60"broom and 72"mower. ANALYSIS Working in conjunction with Street Division staff, Purchasing prepared specifications for this unit. Bids were sent to known vendors. Bids were due on March 6, 2015. The bid tab is attached. City staff reviewed the sole bid received from Industrial Marketing and Consulting for a Holder C270 unit and concluded it met the minimum bid specifications. FISCAL IMPACT The total fiscal impact of the unit with attachments and trade in is $122,671. This item was budgeted in the 2015 CIP Major Equipment Budget at $125,000. Funding for this item would be charged to A/N#: 323-0430-7204-06538. RECOMMENDATION Purchasing recommends the Common Council award this bid to Industrial Marketing & Consulting for$122,671.
