RE: Bid Award-Zero-Turn Riding Tractor for Parks Department
BACKGROUND
The Common Council allocated $47,000 in the 2015 CIP Major Equipment Budget far a new
commercial zero-turn riding tractor for the Parks Department. This unit will come equipped for
both turf and snow removal operations and will allow the Parks Department to consolidate
mowing, mulching and snow removal equipment into one multi-seasonal unit and improve
operational efficiencies.
ANALYSIS
Working in conjunction with Parks Department staff, Purchasing prepared specifications for this
unit. Bids were sent to known vendors. Bids were due on March 11, 2015. The bid tab is
attached. City staff reviewed the sole bid received from Reinders Inc. for a Toro Groundsmaster
7210 and concluded it met the minimum bid specifications.
FISCAL IMPACT
The total fiscal impact of the unit with necessary attachments and trade-in is $46,985.56. This
item was budgeted in the 2015 CIP Major Equipment Budget at $47,000. Funding for this item
would be charged to A/N#: 323-0610-7204-0653 L
RECOMMENDATION
Purchasing recommends the Common Council award this bid to Reinders Inc. for$46,985.56
