($46,985.56) INITIATED BY: PURCHASING WHEREAS, the City of Oshkosh has heretofore advertised for bids for a zero-turn riding tractor for the Parks Department and WHEREAS, upon the opening and tabulation of bids, the following is the only bid: REINDERS, INC. W227N6225 Sussex Road Sussex, WI 53089-3969 Total Bid with Trade: $46,985.56 WHEREAS, this bid meets the minimum specifications and staff has reviewed the bid and recommends its acceptance. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Oshkosh that the said bid is hereby accepted and the proper City officials are hereby authorized and directed to enter into an appropriate agreement for the purpose of same, all according to plans, specifications, and bid on file. Money for this purpose is hereby appropriated from: Acct. Urben, General Services Manager DATE: March 12, 2015 RE: Bid Award-Zero-Turn Riding Tractor for Parks Department BACKGROUND The Common Council allocated $47,000 in the 2015 CIP Major Equipment Budget far a new commercial zero-turn riding tractor for the Parks Department. This unit will come equipped for both turf and snow removal operations and will allow the Parks Department to consolidate mowing, mulching and snow removal equipment into one multi-seasonal unit and improve operational efficiencies. ANALYSIS Working in conjunction with Parks Department staff, Purchasing prepared specifications for this unit. Bids were sent to known vendors. Bids were due on March 11, 2015. The bid tab is attached. City staff reviewed the sole bid received from Reinders Inc. for a Toro Groundsmaster 7210 and concluded it met the minimum bid specifications. FISCAL IMPACT The total fiscal impact of the unit with necessary attachments and trade-in is $46,985.56. This item was budgeted in the 2015 CIP Major Equipment Budget at $47,000.
