RE: Bid Award-Double Drum Vibratory Roller for Street Division
BACKGROUND
The Common Council allocated $35,000 in the 2015 CIP Major Equipment Budget for a new
double drub vibratory roller for the Street Division. A new unit will replace the 1993 Bomag unit
that requires repairs to various steering, vibration and water system components that exceeds its
value.
ANALYSIS
Working in conjunction with Street Division staff, Purchasing prepared specifications for this
unit. Bids were sent to known vendors. Bids were due on February 16, 2015. The bid tab is
attached. City staff reviewed the low bid received from Miller-Bradford & Risberg, Inc. for a
Bomag BW 135AD-5 and concluded it met the minimum bid specifications.
FISCAL IMPACT
The total fiscal impact of the unit with trade is $32,520. This item was budgeted in the 2015 CIP
Major Equipment Budget at $35,000. Funding for this item would be charged to A/N#: 323-
0430-7204-06539.
RECOMMENDATION
Purchasing recommends the Common Council award this bid to Miller-Bradfard & Risberg, Inc.
for$32,520.
Respectfully Submitted, Approved:
