Birds and squirrels are getting into the house through several openings in the fascia and soffit. Common area smoke detectors(basements)are the sole responsibility of the property owner. The owner shall replace batteries once per year or at the beginning of new tenancies. Written responsibilities shall be given to the : occupants conceming smoke detectors. These bedrooms were built without the needed building permits and do not comply with habitability requirements for ceiling height, light and ventilation. Windows shall be free of chipped, peeling paint, loose or missing glazing compound, broken panes of glass and be weather tight. Numerous electrical violaitons were found at inspection. See photos for locations. A licensed electrician shall correct the violations. Tenant stated that he installed the wiring for the basement. See photos for locations. A licensed plumber with permit shall make the necessary corrections.
