PURPOSE: APPROVAL OF CHANGES IN LEASED PARKING IN THE
RECREATION DEPARTMENT LOT
INITIATED BY: PARKING UTILITY COMMISSION
A GENERAL ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF OSHKOSH AMENDING SECTION 27B
OF THE OSHKOSH MUNICIPAL CODE PERTAINING TO PUBLIC PARKING AREAS.
The Common Council of the City of Oshkosh do ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. That Section 27B of the Oshkosh Municipal Code pertaining to
public parking areas is hereby amended as follows:
Remove Therefrom: Recreation Department lot spaces 1-8 and 11- 28
designated as leased stalls
Add Thereto: Recreation Department lot spaces 1-8 and 11-28
designated as permit parking stalls
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage, publication and placement of the appropriate signage.
SECTION 3. Publication Notice: Please take notice that the City of Oshkosh
enacted ordinance #15-XXX (A GENERAL ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF OSHKOSH
AMENDING SECTION 27B OF THE OSHKOSH MUNICIPAL CODE PERTAINING TO
PUBLIC PARKING AREAS) on February 10, 2015. The ordinance changes leased
parking areas in the Recreation Department lot.

RE: Explanation of Recreation Department Parking Lot Regulation Ordinance Change
SECTION 27B PARKING REGULATIONS PERTAINING TO PUBLIC PARKING AREAS
A REQUEST TO CONVERT MONTHLY LEASED STALLS 1 - 8 AND 11 -28 FROM
MONTHLY LEASED PARKING TO PERMIT PARKING IN THE RECREATION
DEPARTMENT PARKING LOT.
This is a request from the Collections Department.
Mr. Collins explained that in the past Strunsee Rentals leased much of the Recreation
Department lot by the year for their tenants however, more recently they no longer pay by the
year but monthly. He also explained that permit parking is easier to patrol - either the vehicle has
a permit sticker or it doesn't. He clarified that vehicles with a parking permit are not assigned
specific parking stalls. He told there are no 2 hour parking spaces in this lot but there is on street
parking available as well as the 400 Main Street lot. He noted that Strunsee Rental and the
attorney's office both received formal notice that this item was on today's agenda but neither
attended.
