ANALYSIS Unfortunately the low bid vendor for the Sodium Hydroxide 30% portion of this bid (Rowell Chemical Corp.) has now indicated they cannot provide this product. As such, we must rescind their chemical award portion of the bid. Purchasing recommends the Sodium Hydroxide 30% portion of this bid be awarded instead to the next lowest bidder- Hydrite Chemical Company at .42/Ib. Both vendors have been contacted about this issue and will comply with this correction. All other water chemical awards of this bid are unaffected. Attached is the revised bid tab reflecting this change. FISCAL IMPACT The Sodium Hydroxide 30% is one of the annual water chemicals purchased out of the Water Filtration Plant's A/N#: 541-1810-1507-00000. Staff anticipates an estimated 400,000 Ibs will be used during 2015,which at.42/Ib may have a fiscal impact of$168,000. RECOMMENDATION Purchasing recommends the Common Council rescind the Sodium Hydroxide 30% award portion of resolution 14-532 and award it to Hydrite Chemical Company.
