Engineering Services Agreement/Archaeological Investigaions HKOlH ON THE WATER MEMORANDUM DATE: November 20, 2014 TO: Honorable Mayor and Members of the Common Council FROM: Mark A. Rohloff, City Manager z-- RE: Agreement for Archaeological Investigations for Various 2015 Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) / University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UW- Milwaukee) ($25,000) The Department of Public Works requested a proposal from the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee for archaeological investigations during utility re-construction of the various streets in the 2015 CIP. These investigations are often required by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources as part of the permitting process. UW-Milwaukee was chosen because of their experience with this type of work for our previous programs. The work associated with this agreement is anticipated to be complete by the fall of 2015. The cost of these services is estimated not to exceed $25,000, and will be charged to the Storm Water, Water, or Sanitary Sewer Utilities or to the Street Paving CIP, depending on which CIP project requires the service to be performed. Funding is available in all four accounts. Chapter 12 of the Municipal Code of the City of Oshkosh provides that professional services of a specialized nature, including engineering services, may be procured without the use of formal, sealed quotes. In accordance with Section 12-16 of the Code, I am hereby submitting this report regarding this engineering services agreement. Please contact me if you have any questions concerning this engineering services agreement.
