PURPOSE: AWARD BID FOR PRIMARY CLARIFIER PUMPS REPLACEMENT FOR
WASTEWATER TREATMENT FACILITY TO BOERGER LLC
($55,720.00)
INITIATED BY: PURCHASING
WHEREAS, the City of Oshkosh has heretofore advertised for bids for the Primary
Clarifier Pumps Replacement for the Wastewater Treatment Facility; and
WHEREAS, upon the opening and tabulation of bids, the following is the only bid:

Total Bid: $55,720.00
WHEREAS, this bid meets the minimum specifications and staff has reviewed the bid
and recommends its acceptance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of
Oshkosh that the said bid is hereby accepted and the proper City officials are hereby
authorized and directed to enter into an appropriate agreement for the purpose of same, all
according to plans, specifications, and bid on file. Money for this purpose is hereby
appropriated from:

Bid Award- Primary Clarifier Pumps for Wastewater Treatment Facility
BACKGROUND
The Common Council allocated $120,000 in the 2014 Major Equipment CIF for Primary Clarifier
Sludge Pump Replacement at the Wastewater Treatment Facility. The four pumps being replaced
were last replaced in 1991 and have reached the end of their service life. The new pumps are of
newer technology that have less moving parts and will require less maintenance. The new pumps
will be installed by Wastewater staff.
ANALYSIS
Working in conjunction with Wastewater . staff, Purchasing reviewed and prepared bid
specifications seeking vendors these pumps. Bids were advertised in the local paper and posted
online on NovusVendor. Bids were received on August 1, 2014. The bid tab is attached. Staff
review of the sole bid received from Boerger LLC concluded it met the minimum bid
specifications.
FISCAL IMPACT
The total fiscal impact of this bid is $55,720. This project will be funded from AN #: 551 -1910-
1727- 00000. The 2014 Major Equipment CIP allocated $120,000 for this project. The balance of
monies available for this project after the pumps are purchased will be used to purchase
additional piping and materials for Wastewater staff for the installation of these pumps.
RECOMMENDATION
Purchasing recommends the Common Council award this bid to Boerger LLC. for $55,720.
