($19,390.28) INITIATED BY: PURCHASING WHEREAS, the City of Oshkosh has heretofore advertised for bids for a Commercial 4WD Compact Tractor for the Water Filtration Plant; and WHEREAS, upon the opening and tabulation of bids, the following is the only bid: RIESTERER & SCHNELL, INC. 1775 American Drive Neenah, WI 54956 Total Bid: $19,390.28 WHEREAS, this bid meets the minimum specifications and staff has reviewed the bid and recommends its acceptance. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Oshkosh that the said bid is hereby accepted and the proper City officials are hereby authorized and directed to enter into an appropriate agreement for the purpose of same, all according to plans, specifications, and bid on file. Money for this purpose is hereby appropriated from: Acct. No. 541-1810-1785-00000 Water Utility Maintenance Equipment CITY HALL 215 Church Avenue P.O.Box 1130 Oshkosh,Wisconsin 54903-1130 City of Oshkosh O.fHKOJH TO: Honorable Mayor and Members of the Common Council FROM: Jon Urben, General Services Manager DATE: June 16,2014 RE: Bid Award-Commercial 4WD Compact Tractor BACKGROUND The Common Council allocated $24,000 in the 2014 Water Utility Operating Budget for a commercial 4WD compact tractor for the Water Filtration Plant. This vehicle will increase the efficiency of the mowing and snow removal operations at the plant site which will in turn allow for more staff time to be allocated towards pumping equipment maintenance duties. ANALYSIS Working in conjunction with the Water Filtration Plant staff, Purchasing reviewed and prepared proposals seeking vendors for this unit. Bids were posted online on NovusVendor and sent to known tractor dealers. Bids were due on June 6, 2014. As the attached bid tab reflects, one bid was received for this unit. City staff reviewed the sole bid received from Riesterer& Schnell Inc. and concluded it met the minimum bid specifications. FISCAL IMPACT The total fiscal impact of the unit is $19,390.28. This item was budgeted in the 2014 Water Utility Operating Budget at $24,000. Funding for this item would be charged to A/N#: 541- 1810-1785-00000. RECOMMENDATION Purchasing recommends the Common Council award this bid to Riesterer & Schnell Inc. for $19,390.28.
