HomeMy WebLinkAbout08. 14-214 MAY 13. 2014 14-214 RESOLUTION (CARRIED__6-0_____ LOST _______ LAID OVER _______ WITHDRAWN _______) PURPOSE: AWARD BID FOR 2014 RIVERWALK CORRIDOR LIGHTING POLES AND BOLLARDS TO VIKING ELECTRIC SUPPLY ($133,217.70) INITIATED BY: PURCHASING WHEREAS, the City of Oshkosh has heretofore advertised for bids for Riverwalk Corridor Lighting Poles and Bollards; and WHEREAS, upon the opening and tabulation of bids, it appears that the following is the most advantageous bid: VIKING ELECTRIC SUPPLY 2755 Atlas Avenue Oshkosh, WI 54904 Total Bid: $133,217.70 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Oshkosh that the said bid is hereby accepted and the proper City officials are hereby authorized and directed to enter into an appropriate agreement for the purpose of same, all according to plans, specifications, and bid on file. Box 1130 Oshkosh, Wisconsin 54903 -113© Ue 01HKQIH TO: FROM DATE: RE: City of Oshkosh Honorable Mayor and Members of the Common Council Jon Urben, General Services Director April 29, 2014 Bid Award- 2014 Riverwalk Corridor Lighting Poles & Bollards BACKGROUND This bid addresses lighting poles and bollards needs as part of the 2014 Riverwalk Corridor improvement project for the Boat Works Pedestrian Bridge and riverwalk project. Bid specifications required matching the current lighting fixtures to ensure uniformity throughout the Riverwalk Corridor. The Electric Division will install the fixtures. ANALYSIS Working in conjunction with the Electrical Division, Purchasing reviewed and prepared proposals seeking vendors for 32 lighting poles fixtures and 37 pathway bollard lighting fixtures. The bids were advertised in the local paper and posted online on NovusVendor. Bids were received on April 23, 2014. The bid tab is attached. Working with the Electrical Division, Purchasing reviewed the bids and concluded the low bid from Viking Electric Supply met the minimum bid specifications. The lighting fixtures will have a five year standard warranty and a 10 year warranty on the finish. The fixtures are expected to arrive in 8 -10 weeks after purchase. FISCAL IMPACT The total fiscal impact of these fixtures is $133,217.70. Funds were budgeted in the 2014 CIP for Riverwalk improvement projects. Funding for these items will be charged to TIF 420 South Shore Redevelopment Area / Boat Works (534- 1040 - 7216- 00000). RECOMMENDATION Purchasing recommends the Common Council award the 2014 Riverwalk lighting poles & bollards bid to Viking Electric Supply for $133,217.70.
