RE: Bid Award- Four Zero Turn Riding Tractors for Parks- Cemetery Division
BACKGROUND
The Common Council approved $96,000 in the 2014 CIP for the Parks Department
Cemetery Division to purchase four zero turn riding tractors. The tractors are replacing
five units with over 4,000 hours of operational use. The current units have required
extensive repairs during the last several seasons and it is no longer cost effective to
continue to maintain them. The units are used to maintain lawn areas within Riverside
and Boyd Cemetery,
ANALYSIS
Working in conjunction with the Parks Departments, the Purchasing Department
reviewed and developed bid specifications. Bids were advertised in the local paper and
posted online on NovusVendor. Bids were due February 25, 2014 and one vendor
responded to the bid solicitation. The bid tabulation is attached. Staff review of the sole
bid (Joe's Power Center) concluded it met the minimum bid specifications.
FISCAL IMPACT
With trade-ins the four zero turn riding tractors with attaclunents and options will have a
j fiscal impact of $45,949.68. These items were budgeted in the 2014 CIP major
equipment replacement at $96,000. Funding for these items would be charged to AN
323-0650-7204-06429.
