Re: Proposal for Acoustics Consulting Services
Grand Opera House Restoration
Oshkosh, Wisconsin
Dear Catherine:
We are pleased that the matter of consulting services has been
resolved and that work on the project can be continued. We
understand the need for a single document summarizing the scope
of services we propose to provide and hope that this document
will serve that need.
SCOPE OF SERVICES
Our efforts will involve the areas of Room Acoustics, Mechanical
System Noise and Vibration Control , and Audio System Design and
Specification. These consulting efforts will be provided during
working conferences, drawing reviews, letter reports, guidelines
and draft specifications as appropriate. Only in the area of
audio systems will we prepare full bidding documents. We recom-
mend that these be issued as separate owner-purchase documents
to save contractor mark-ups.
FEES
Our total fee for these services will be $15,061.16; $3,000 of
this total has been paid already by Yarbro-Kempinger. This leaves
a balance of $12,061. 16, for which the City of Oshkosh is respon-
sible. Direct expenses for travel , long-distance telephone, ex-
pedited delivery service, drawing reproduction or other out-of-
pocket expenses associated with accomplishing our work will be
billed in addition at our costs.

RESOLUTION # 13

Page Two
We must point out that this fee is exceedingly restrictive; it
is based upon expeditious project management and assumes that
the project will move ahead on time and within budget. We have
budgeted for a total of three (3) man-days for mechanical system
noise and vibration control , two (2) man-days of architectural
acoustics planning and review, and one (1) man-day of acoustics
and noise control checkout and user orientation. An additional
two (2) man-days is provided for acceptance testing and checkout
of the audio systems.
We recognize that the project budget is limited and regret in
advance that we will have to be so restrictive with our time in
order to stay within this consulting budget. The City has chosen
to authorize the low end of our fee range which already was re-
strictive. We simply will have to respond accordingly.
We look forward to working with you and will await formal author-
ization of this proposal before proceeding.
Cordially yours,
R. AWRENCE KI' 'EGAARD & ASSOCIAT NC.
