Patek, Director of Public Works cP DATE: February 6, 2014 RE: Change Order No. 1 for Public Works Contract No. 13-27 Concrete and Asphalt Crushing Michels Corporation (+$10,474.92) BACKGROUND Change Order No. 1 for Contract 13-27 is scheduled for consideration by the Common Council at the February 11, 2014 meeting. The contract was originally awarded to Michels Corporation in October of 2013. This change order is for additional services provided. ANALYSIS Following is a summary of the significant changes to each section of the CIP: • Property Improvements — Additional materials were stockpiled on the site prior to commencement of crushing operations resulting in an extra 3,223 tons of material being crushed. The City cross-sectioned the final pile after crushing to verify the final scale readings. The total amount material is available for use at the Public Works Field Operations Facility project. FISCAL IMPACT Funding for the project is available with the Field Operations Project funding in the Property Improvements Section of the Capital Improvement Program. RECOMMENDATIONS I recommend approval of Change Order No. 1 to Contact No. 13-27 in the amount of +$10,474.92 to Michels Corporation. Approved: ./6(1a)- Mark A.
