It is the responsibility of every property owner to confirm compliance with these orders before the compliance date as specified. Item# 1 Code SPS321.04 Complies No Comply By 12/22/2013 Description The handrails/guardrails for the front stairs is not compliant. The handrails will have to comply with current code requirements. A graspable handrail is required and a guardrail located between 30"-38"of the nosing of the treads. Handrails and guardrails shall be constructed to prevent the through passage of a sphere with a diameter of 4"or larger. (A handout is attached to provide additional clarification) Item# 2 Code SPS321.04 Complies No _ Compty By 12/22/2013 Description Treads and Risers. Risers may not exceed 8 inches in height and treads shall be a minimum of 9 inches wide measured horizontally from nosing to nosing,with any variation in uniformity in each tread or riser not varying by more that 3/8"for the entire stairway flight. Open risers are also not allowed for stairways. The risers are off due to the excessive slope on the porch floor. Please call to discuss. Call for reinspections prior to concealment and/or occupancy.
