Centennial requested an increase in tne contrazc amount of 122, 00 order to instai 'l tne oioe via Jacxkng. The City of Oshkosn elected to have Centennial install the pioe via the open cut metnod as bid. Sc! cnange in toe contract amount or time is therefore necessary. Item No. 2 - This item is for the extra time and material cost reouired to install the interceptor sewer between M. H. i-22 to m. hi. 1-20 at a lower elevation than shown on the contract plans. The lower elevation was reouired because the invert of the existing sewer at the wastewater treatment plant was found to be 1. 34 feet lower than the as built elevation shown on the contract orawings' This item resulted in an increase cost of $5, 496. 93. Iterl! N5:?.,_ 3 - This item is for field modifications to Junction Cnamber 1- 22. Centennial requestec that the Chamber oe snifteo 1 foot to tne east so that the walls of the chamber could be constructed orior to the removal of the existing east wail of the existing mannole. Tnis change was approved at no cnange in the contract amount or time. can Nc 4 - This item ie for extra work required oue to the hiooen poor c000itions of the existing 34° x 53" discharge line from toe wastewater treatment plant. The line had to be removed from service curing installation of the new interceptor because of wide ooen joints between existing pioe seIT:ents. This admitional work item, including encasement cf te rep^aceo line in concrere, resuiteo in an increase in cost of $13, 692, i2. Item No. 5 - Tnis item is for extra work required to remove ano replace an existing 6" water main in Dempsey Trail. Tne existing main was not soown on the contract brawings. The location of the main necessitated its removal and replacement during construction of tne new ,nterceotor. This item resulted in an increase in cost of $3, 220. 89. Item No. 6 - This item is for the extra work required to install the new interceptor in the vicinity of M. H. 1-18. Tnere was an existing 20inch water main and 8inch connecting main that were not shown on the contract crawings. The locations of these mains was such that the interceotor nao to be installed by Jacking in lieu of ooen cutting. This work resulted in an increase in cost of $29, 450. 74. ‘ ' Change Order No. l Page 3 Contract No. 85-01 , Sewer interceptor Item No. 7 - Centennial Contractor' s submitted a claim an tne amount of $702. 35 for delays encountered oue to an aoandoneo storm sewer wnzch was not shown on the contract drawings' Immediately after encountering the s:o'er sewer Centrnniai encountered ano oro^e an electric service which was shown on the contract orawinqs. The power company would not allow Centennial to oroceeo until the reoazrs were comoleted. [entennzai ` s claim for the delays due to the abandoned storm sewer were therefore rejected. No change in the contract amount or time is required by this item. Item !:‘;q, 8 - Centennial suomitted a claim in the amount of $1, 669. 39 for worx required to reinstall a 4incn water service to a ousiness on the north side of 8th St. between M. H. No. 1-2 and M. H. No. 1-1. This claim was reJected because tne contract documents require tne contractor to reinstall any building service which has to be removed. No change in the contract amount or time is required by this item. Item Nq. g - This item is for extra excavation, oackfzil; and paving costs required due to an existing gas main location in 8th St. in the vzrinity of M. H. No. 1-1. The contract plans showed the gas main along the north right of way. The gas main was actually near the middle of the richt of way at M. H. No. 1-1 . The gas main location reouired movement of the new Junction chamber and associated extra costs. This work resulted in an increase in cost of $3, 446. 78. ltem No. 10 - This item is for grading and oaving costs for an additional 321 square yards of bituminous pavement alonc the north side of tne oaveo right of way between Scutn :N:ain St. art Nebraska Street . Me oavement was in poor shape pr� or to cons�ruLtior of tne new interceptor. The pavement immediately aoJacent was being replaced oue to construction activities associated with the new interceptor. This work resulted in an increase cost of $2, 288. 73. Item No. 11 - This item is for a credit to the contract required in oroer to allow 100 feet of incorrectly placed interceotor sewer to remain in place immediately east of M. H. No. 1-17. The contractor placed the sewer at an incorrect slope resulting in a . 34foot elevation error after 100 feet . It was determined that the elevation error could be made up at another location in the system without adversely affecting the hydraulics of the system. The credit to the contract for this item is $8, 746, 56 It.pm No, .2 - This item is for a credit to tne contract reouzred in oroer to allow 168 feet of incorrectly placed interceptor sewer to remain in place in the vicinity of M. H. No. 1-16. The contractor placed the sewer off line and at an incorrect slope resulting in elevation errors up to . 18feet. It was determined that the installation could remain without adversely affecting the nydraulics of tne system. The credit to tne contract for this item is $19, 436. 80
