The roof consists of approximately 2,300 square feet and has various roof and structural deficiencies that must be addressed including masonry chimney joint deterioration, damaged/deteriorated cinder block wall/cap and disintegrated soffits, soffit supports, fascia, gutters and masonry joints. Working with our roofing engineer consultant from Specialty Engineering Group(SEG), Purchasing prepared specifications seeking contractors for this project. The scope of work will include removing the existing roof, replacing any deteriorated wood deck, replacing rafter ends, covering walls and chimney with plywood and then roof membrane. New perimeter metal, gutters and chimney cap will be installed, in addition to sealing of any masonry cracks. ANALYSIS Bid requests were advertised on our online NovusVendor system and in the local paper. Bids were received on September 24, 2013. The bid tab is attached. Bids were analyzed and reviewed by SEG and Purchasing. This review concluded the low bid from Northern Metal & Roofing Company, Inc., of $31,350 covered all aspects of the project in their bid and met the minimum bid specifications.
