•
Dearest Oshkosh Common Council;
Please consider this request for the waiving of the costs of barricade rental on September 28th
2013 for the special event "COGtoberFEST".
• All proceeds to this eve nt will benefit Christine Ann Domestic Abuse Services Inc., a
local non-profit shelter for domestic abuse victims.
• This event brings participants from Appleton, Madison, Milwaukee, Green Bay, Chicago,
and as far as Minneapolis, Minnesota. These cyclists thus spend money in local hotels,
restaurants and bike shops in Oshkosh. As well as promote Oshkosh as a more bicycle
friendly city.
• This event specifically, is a celebration of Oshkosh's rich beer brewing history as well as
the Ohtoberfest traditions.
• Our downtown event's marketing is deliberately designed increase foot traffic (and bike
traffic) in the dov,2_town area, as well as support the local businesses with advertising
(New Moon, Streets of Fire, 920 Tattoo Co. Time Theater, Kitz and Pfeil, The Exclusive
Company)
• Barricades will already be scheduled to be delivered to the Farmer's Market area on
Algoma Blvd. so no additional travel is necessary.
Please consider, also, that this event is funded by me personally and that every effort is made
by my organization to promote the City of Oshkosh as a fun and lively tourism destination.
Sincerely,
Michael Krueger
