Building Permit Request

The estimated cost of this project is $300 adding approximately $700 value to the house.
This project consists of three parts: 1. Expanding an upstairs room by removing a closet and a wall, and adding a wall
and closet.
2. Adding a closet to the upstairs bedroom
3. Installing heating ducts into the two rooms upstairs and enclosing the heating
ducts that pass through the first floor.
Details:
Part i:
Removal
One wall, 2 doors and doorframes will be removed as indicated on the current floor
layout. The wall being removed is not a baring wall.
Installation
A wall will be added along the side of the steps and a standard door will be installed at
the entrance of the room. A closet and some shelves will be installed as indicated on the
floor plan. The shelves begin approximately 3 feet above the floor. Light switches and
outlets will be moved to appropriate locations.
Part 2:
Removal
The space heating in the upstairs bedroom will be removed.
Installation
A set of drawers, shelves and a closet will be permanently installed along the west walt of
the upstairs bedroom.
Part 3:
Installation
Heating ducts will be installed in the floor of both the upstairs rooms. These ducts will
run down an inside wall on the first floor and will be enclosed. These ducts will then
connect to the heating unit in the basement.
Any old electrical wiring that should be replaced will be replaced. Before any walls are
closed, I will request the electrical be inspected.
