RE Contract on Work Relief Project Sites Provide by City of Oshkosh -
Interpretation of Item Six (6) on Transportation
DATE: February 6, 1986
The question was raised by the City of Oshkosh Welfare Dept. as to the meaning
of the statement that "Oshkosh shall be responsible for providing transportation
to and from such project for relief recipients assigned to such project by the
County. ”
Our intent is and our current practice is that when a relief recipient is
assigned to a work relief project site, the recipient must provide there own
transportation to the site assigned. Once at the site, if there is a need for
the recipient to be transported to some other site or area and transportation
is needed, then the Work Project Site would be responsible for the
transportation needed. When the work period is completed the recipient would
be returned to the original work project site assigned and from that point
is responsible for there own transportation home.
It is not our intent or policy to have someone from the City come to the
Social Services Dept. to pick up relief recipients assigned to City work
sites and deliver them to said sites. Getting to and from the assigned work
site is the responsibility of the relief recipient.
