Rohloff, City Manager DATE: June 27, 2013 RE: IT Backup/Disaster Recovery Planning/Installation Professional Services- Unitrends, Inc. BACKGROUND The City of Oshkosh data storage infrastructure is critical in its nature. The ability to backup and recover routine data and properly plan for disaster recovery scenarios is crucial for the long term survivability of the City's data. In the past several months the progressive nature of this data volume has dramatically increased beyond anticipation due to the increased use of video technology to record the condition of public infrastructure. In response to this critical issue our IT division sought qualified vendors that could provide planning and installation solutions to address the City's needs. ANALYSIS After research and consultation with several qualified vendors our IT division felt Unitrends, Inc. demonstrated the best understanding of our current and future backup/disaster recovery needs and provided the most economical and cost-effective planning/installation solution. Unitrends Inc.'s solution resolves our short term demands as well as long term capacity fulfillment. In addition, their backup appliance with integrated disaster recovery will satisfy all foreseeable future needs for the City's growing data protection needs. FISCAL IMPACT The cost of Unitrend Inc.'s services is estimated not to exceed $33,500 and was charged to A/N# 100-0110-7202-00000.
