RE: 2013 Acanthus Historic Preservation Awards

Since 1981, the City of Oshkosh Landmarks Commission has honored members of the community that have
made important contributions to local historic preservation. A goal of the Acanthus Awards is to further
historic preservation by identifying, evaluating and protecting the City's cultural resources by calling
attention to the cultural, economic, social or historic heritage of our city. Past recipients have ranged from
organizations to property owners as well as individuals that have been involved in activities that have
enhanced our cultural resources.
The City of Oshkosh Landmarks Commission has chosen three entities to receive an annual City of Oshkosh
Acanthus Historic Preservation Award for 2013.
1. Crescent Moon Antiques and Salvage,
"Architectural Salvage and Recovery"
For their professional salvage and reclamation of local architectural elements for re -use in restoration
projects.
J & Julie Kamer will be accepting the Award
2. CR Meyer & Sons Company,
"Architectural Contributions to Oshkosh"
For the construction and/or design of countless beautiful and functional buildings in the City of
Oshkosh over the company's 125 Year History.
Peter LeCompte, VP of Design/Build will be accepting the Award on their behalf
3. Castle Pierce Corporation,
"Longest Continuously Run Family Business in Oshkosh"
For their 125 years of commitment to innovation, industry leadership and dedication to the Oshkosh
Community.
Bill Castle will be accepting the Award on their behalf
Shirley Brabender Mattox of the Oshkosh Landmarks Commission will say a few words about the awardees
and their projects.
