RE: Bid Award -' /z Ton Extended Cab Pickup Truck for Parks Department
BACKGROUND
The Common Council allocated $40,000 in the 2013 Major Equipment CIP for a' /z ton
extended cab pickup truck with a 6.5' box for the Parks Department. This truck will
replace a 1996 pickup buck with 52,000 miles that has continued to experience high
maintenance costs to keep the unit operational. While the compressed natural gas (CNG)
fuel option is not feasible within the truck bed operational requirements, the new truck
will come with a more fuel efficient engine and a full three year /36,000 mile bumper to
bumper warranty.
