The owner assured our office that the unit would remain vacant until he had enough money to repair the violations. He resided in the lower unit of the duplex. 9/18/12 Our office received a phone call from a tenant who had rented 1665 Doty. She stated that she had walked out onto the rear porch and fell through the roof. She also stated there were other violations that the owner promised to fix but had not followed through. 9/20/12 An inspection was conducted of the property and numerous violations were noted. Citations were prepared due to the severity of the violations. 9/24/12 Citations were issued to the owner(5 day citation) for renting a unit that was posted"Unfit for Human Habitation". The unit in question was not allowed to be occupied. 10/10/12 The owner defaulted on the citations and was found guilty. This property was posted"Unfit for Human Habitation" and was ordered to be repaired in 2008. The owner promised us that the unit would remain vacant until he had the money to make the repairs. The neighbors informed us that he actually has been renting the upper unit out for the past year to several different renters and they have expressed their concerns about the property in several complaints.. The owner has made no attempt to make any of the repairs from the original correction notice and the condition of the property since 2008 has declined dramatically (see the attached letter and pictures dated 9/25/12). Our office has allowed him ample : time to make the required repairs thus a raze and/or repair request has been requested. Attachments: Orders X , Photos X , Other_.
