From: Mark A. Rohloff, City Managers Subject: COORDINATING PLAN TO FACILITATE TRAFFIC FLOW THROUGH CENTRAL CITY
On January 15, 2013, Council met with me to discuss my goals for 2013. One of the goals from Council was as
follows:
"Create a coordinated plan that facilitates traffic flow between the Highway 441 corridor and the central city."
In order for me to best follow through with this goal, I would like to have a brief discussion with Council regarding
some of your thoughts and expectations regarding this goal. During our very brief discussion at my review, I
received a few comments about Council's expectations. I wanted to make sure that I am addressing all of the
potential issues that Council wants me to cover in the scope of this analysis. Some of the issues I would like to
discuss with Council and get feedback on include the following:
• Preferred routes to the central city from the south, west, and north
• Define central city and key destinations
• Aesthetic issues related to gateways
• Functional and aesthetic considerations for signage
• Need/desire for Council and/or citizen input into the development of this plan
The development of a plan such as this can take many different paths to completion. I want to ensure that I have
the scope of work clearly identified so that I may determine how best to achieve this goal for Council. Please give
these issues some thought and be prepared to provide me with any other feedback regarding this goal.
