SUBJECT: Professional Services Agreement for Boatworks Redevelopment /
Chapter 30 Permit application and Design Plans - AECOM
Consultants
The Community Development Department requested a design and permitting
services contract from AECOM for the future redevelopment of the Boatworks
Property on the northeast quadrant of Michigan St. and 4th Ave.
The proposed scope of the services is related to the preliminary design,
mapping, and permitting process with the Wisconsin Department of Natural
Resources. The scope of the project would include the riverwalk extension,
dredging of the docking area, docks and possible boat landing, and other public
improvements on the property. Environmental remediation will also play a large
role in this segment of the river walk project and property redevelopment. The
contract totals $47,500.
The funds for these professional services are included in the 2012 and 2013
Capital Improvement Programs. Construction for this segment of the riverwalk is
scheduled for 2013 Capital Improvement Program. Staff has been working on
multiple grant applications for the 2013 construction, remediation, and dredging
projects for the Boatworks property with the Redevelopment Authority, the owner
of the property.
