BACKGROUND
The City has designed and bid out the Jackson Street to Main Street portion of the
proposed riverwalk and dock project. The bid was split into two pieces; the first piece
was the base bid for the City Center office complex river frontage. The City Council
awarded the base bid on March 27, 2012. The second piece is an alternate bid that was
included for the hotel river frontage. The Council is taking action on the alternate bid at
this time.
The City Center office complex donated land and granted easements for their portion of
the riverwalk and docks. The new owners of the hotel are doing the same as part of this
City Council meeting.

riverwalk improvements and a future TIF district for the hotel to also pay for riverwalk
and dock improvements.
