FROM: Mark A Rohloff, City Manager
DATE: March 8, 2012
SUBJECT: Design Contract Amendments to AECOM — Riverwalk Northshore
Jackson St. to Main St. segment
The Community Development Department requested design contract
amendments from AECOM to add to the original scope of their design services
for the design of the planned riverwalk. The original design contract was
approved in December, 2010 as part of the 2011 Capital Improvement Program.
First, AECOM provided preliminary designs and cost estimates for City grant
applications that proved successful. Next, the three sets of docks were added to
the scope of the design. Finally, there have been multiple revisions to the
design through the project review and approval process with WisDNR, City
departments, utilities and adjoining property owners and additional easements
and legal descriptions were required based on the redesigns and eventual
property transfer.
A summary of the related costs are listed below:
Original Design Contract - $140,000
Amendment#1 - $7,000 Grant application assistance — preliminary design,
maps and cost estimates.
Amendment #2 — $3,000 Topographic work.
Amendment #3 - $61,000 Docks design and bid specifications added.
Amendment #4 — $54,000 Design revisions; easements and legal descriptions;
pre-bid meetings.
The cost of these services is included in the 2012 Capital Improvement Program.
