Services DATE: February 8, 2012 RE: Revise In City Mileage Reimbursement for Designated Manager Positions BACKGROUND In accordance with Section 313 of the Employee Handbook, certain city positions have historically received a flat $80 monthly allowance for the in city travel that is required as a result of their work activities. It is my understanding that this allowance was established as an efficient means to reimburse these employees for their regular in-city travel in place of the reimbursement procedure that occurs for employees assigned to other positions which travel less regularly in the city and submit individual travel expense reimbursement requests for those trips. Because the list of covered employees has not been updated in some time by the Council, I am providing an accurate list as of February of this year and am seeking its approval. The positions designated include: Assistant City Manager/ Director of Administrative Services City Assessor Director of Community Development Director of Finance Director of Parks Director of Public Works Director of Senior Services Director of Transportation RECOMMENDATION The City Manager recommends that the Council approve the Resolution as proposed.
