Pumping station improvements included a back up generator replacement at the North Pumping Station, valve vault upgrades at Hickory Lane, and screening compactors and conveyors at Broad Street and South Main pumping stations. Treatment plant work included replacement of the aeration tank weir gates, concrete expansion joint repairs in process tanks, and upgrades to the effluent water reuse filter system. Additional services were required during construction to review changes necessary to replace the existing electric control panels for the new screening presses and conveyors due to a size issue with the existing electric panel and the new controls. The original agreement was in the amount of$198,000.00. The amendment is for$10,750.00, which brings the total for engineering services to $208,750.00. This project is funded through the Major Equipment Replacement and Property Improvements Sections of the Capital Improvement Program and funding for these services is available in these accounts. Section 12-10(D)(5) of the Municipal Code provides that professional services of a specialized nature, including engineering services, may be approved by the City Manager without the use of formal sealed quotes.
