HomeMy WebLinkAboutBID Manager's Report Oshkosh Area Economic Development Corporation Downtown Oshkosh Business Improvement District REPORT November 2011 Accomplishments  BID Marketing Consortium Prepared for the monthly meeting  Worked with Chair of Consortium for planning purposes  Sent out prior minutes and agenda to all marketing consortium members  Reviewed Budget for the current year  Developed budget recommendation for 2012  Updated membership payments for 2011  Coordinated billing functions with the city  Updated Downtown Website  Holiday events  Halloween event  Developed and distributed Newsletter through Constant Contact  Sent marketing consortium information to 3 potential new members  Composed and advertising handout to better form an advertising plan for  the 2012 year  Halloween Committee Attended the Special Permit Committee meeting  Attended 3 meetings with the Chair  Secured city’s confirmation on the event request  Organized the game and craft stations  Coordinated with Non-profit groups to help run the event  Assisted in setup, running the event, and teardown  Collected and organized all prizes for the Halloween event  Distributed posters for events  Organized what businesses will participate in trick or treating portion of the  event and distributed handouts door to door Set up the plywood maze in Opera House Square  Assisted in securing volunteers  Wrote a letter of appreciation to the auxiliary officers that helped with the  event  Holiday Committee Attended the Special Permit Committee meeting  Attended 3 committee meetings  Put together an expense report to show availability of funds  Coordinated billing functions with the city  Updated the website with holiday event information  Ordered craft supplies for the December event at the Grand  Put together events on the CVB partner site and the Wisconsin school district  site to promote the Downtown holiday events Helped handout postcards and posters promoting the holiday events for 2011  Met with 3 advertisers to put together holiday promotions  Appeared on Oshkosh Today to promote the holiday events   Branding Put together 2 press releases  th Organized promotional products for Nov. 10 reveal  th Put together several materials for the Nov 8 sneak peak  Put together numerous Facebook posts encouraging people to vote  Prepared and presented a PowerPoint presentation for the reveal\  Handed out informational cards on the branding process prior to the parade  Included the branding process in the monthly e-newsletter  Drafted and sent an informational email to downtown business owners to  encourage them to vote and to attend the sneak peak Posted the reveal as an event on the CVB site  Made a Facebook event to invite downtown business owners to attend the  sneak peak Updated the downtown website with current information on the branding  process Was a guest on WOSH with Bob Burnell in regards to the branding process   Beautification Reviewed budget for the current year  Discussed bike rack status  Organized the delivery of the school yard bike racks from the Parks Dept. to  City Center Reviewed and approved billing for Ground Effects  Developed a budget recommendation for the 2012 year  Started developing a new beautification contract for 2012  Coordinated holiday decoration assignments with Ground Effects and the  Parks Dept. Arranged the delivery of the Opera House Square Christmas tree  Arranged with a local company the decoration/lighting of the trees  surrounding Opera House Square Tested all lights being used for the trees   RFG Finalized paperwork for the Soup A Go-Go Grant   Other Put together an informational report for the OAEDC Board Meeting  Ordered samples for new destination downtown bags  Started putting together an advertising plan for 2012  Worked on Budget and Operating Plan for 2012  Attended the 2011 Wisconsin Conference on Downtown Revitalization in  Fond du Lac th Attended the 104 Annual Meeting at the Convention Center   Responded/made an estimated 37 informational calls, questions and concerns in regards to Downtown BID  Attended/Held an estimated 30 meetings  Managed day to day activities of the BID
