Box 1130 Oshkosh, 9 0 3 -113 54 City of Oshkosh -0— 903 -1130 OfHKOJ TO: Honorable Mayor and Members of the Common Council FROM: Jon Urben, General Services Director DATE: September 15, 2011 RE: 3 /4 Ton 4WD Regular Cab Pickup Truck BACKGROUND The Common Council approved and allocated $45,000 in the 2011 CIP to purchase a 3 /4 ton pickup truck for the Wastewater Treatment Facility. The current truck is a 1999 Chevrolet K2500 mounted with a hydraulic lift box to haul waste material at the plant. Unfortunately the hydraulic lift box on the current truck is failing due to heavy use and when inoperable, requires manual loading /unloading of material. Costs to repair the current truck's lift box system exceed its value. The new truck will come with a hydraulic lift gate for easier operation, a full three year, 36,000 mile warranty and a snow plow to address snow removal needs for the Wastewater Division.
