At their March 8, 2011 meeting the Council awarded the truck chassis bid to L & S Truck Center for $53,063. This left $26,937 to purchase the dump body with hoist to be installed upon the chassis. ANALYSIS Working in conjunction with the Forestry Division, Purchasing reviewed and prepared proposals seeking vendors for this item. Bid requests were sent to vendors who have received invitations to bids in previous years. In addition the bids were advertised in the local paper and posted online on NovusVendor. Bids were received March 28, 2011. The bid tabulation is attached. Working with the Forestry Division, Purchasing reviewed the bids and concluded the low bid from Monroe Truck Equipment met the minimum bid specifications for the dump body and hoist. FISCAL IMPACT The dump body with hoist will have a fiscal impact of $20,980, which is well under the $26,937 remaining for this CIP item. Funding for this item would be charged to CIP account: 323 -0620- 7210- 06109. RECOMMENDATION Purchasing recommends the Common Council award the bid to Monroe Truck Equipment for $20,980.
