Dear Sir:
This letter is to acknowledge your recent letter
advising that temporary repairs will be made immediately
on your house at 1431 Powers Street and that a Building
Permit will be secured no later than March 1, 1973 for a
new house. Your letter also stated that your present
house will be vacated no later than April 1, 1973. The
above proposal will be agreeable to this office.

On. Oct. 30,1972 at 3pm Det. Donald Weber, Winnebago County Social
worker Thomas Hoare, and I had the occassion to go to the Paul
Haase residence at 1431 Powers st. on a child beating.
This dwelling was formally a shed of some type and has been converted
to liuing quarters. It is the opinion of the three of us that some
one from your Dept. should inspect it.
While in this home it was noted that there are a number of violations
of the building code. Examples are: The hot water tank located in
the living room is not vented. The gas furnace located in room
between the living room and the kitchen is not vented to a chimmney.
The electric lite in the kitchen is hanging By the wires and is
not connected to a electrical box. There are many more.
There are five people living in this home, Mr and Mrs. Paul Haase
a son Randall age 14, and two daughters Deborah age 12, and Susanne
age 3.
Ed. we would appreciate it if some one from your staff would take
the time and look into this. For the childrens sake anyway.
The woman of the house is not the best housekeeper, but we feel
most of the problems are the conditions.
