DISCUSSION OF ADA CUSTOMER SERVICE STANDARDS At the December 2010 Board meeting, there was much discussion related to paratransit customer service standards. I wanted to provide board members with some background on the service standards that are applicable to OTS, and how we strive to meet them. Please find attached a separate memo which explores this issue in some detail. 2. DISCUSSION OF STATE BUDGET IMPACTS The purpose of this discussion item is to review the impacts of current state budget legislation (proposed and enacted) on the Oshkosh Transit System. I have attached a memo prepared by the City Manager which highlights the effects for the City as a whole, as well as transit-specific impacts. I have also attached an analysis prepared by the state’s Legislative Fiscal Bureau, which discusses the potential impacts of one aspect of the budget repair bill in more detail. STAFF STATEMENTS 3. OSHKOSH TRANSIT SYSTEM PARATRANSIT SYSTEM INFORMATION AND POLICIES OTS staff recently prepared an informational guide for our paratransit customers to help better explain our service. We are distributing this to people who have just received ADA certification, as well as to care facilities. We hope this publication will help to address many of the common questions we have about our service, and will ultimately help to strengthen the effectiveness of the service for our customers. 4. 2010-11 TRANSIT DEVELOPMENT PLAN UPDATE The TDP Steering Committee met earlier this month to continue the process of developing the TDP. The contractor, East Central Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission, worked with committee members to identify new service and service modification ideas on which to focus their efforts. The committee’s next meeting is scheduled for early February. From that time on, it is expected that the committee will try to meet monthly in order to finalize the plan by late spring 2011. The plan will come to the Transit Advisory Board for review at a future meeting. 5. JANUARY 2011 RIDERSHIP STATISTICS You’ll find enclosed our monthly revenue/ridership statistics for January.
