Reimer Building Inspector Oshkosh, Wisconsin • • February 2, 1967 Dear Mr. Reimer: Enclosed you will find the technical data covering the installation of Mrs. Emily Peterson's patio roof at 1325 Monroe Street. On sheet No. 1, we have circled the specifications that comes closest to our dimensions used on this job. The projection was only 7' 6" and the spacing of the rafters was 28'k" on center. The load carrying capacity of this arrangement would compute to a 45# per square foot load with a safety factor of two times. The second chart gives us a load support factor for Facia Gutter No. 349 which was used on Mrs. Peterson's job. Our supports are 10' apart and the span is 7' 6 ". This arrangement computes to a carrying capacity of 38# per square foot with a safety factor of two times. On a third enclosure, we have the technical data covering the fibre glass sheet used on Mrs. Peterson's patio. I have marked the column pertaining to the glass used. The weight carrying capacity of this fibre glass is 100# per square foot. With our rafters spaced at 28k" on center, this com- putes out to a load factor of 240# per square foot. The above computations and specification data are for a wind load or live load of 20# per square foot. If live loads in excess of 20# per square foot or a 90 -mile an hour wind velocity is required, the dead load specifications for the above structo material has to be reduced. However, I believe that a 20# live load covers most specifications and the dead load weight requirements under these circum- stances far exceed the stated Oshkosh City requirements. Mr. Edward L. Reimer Page Two February 2, 1967 May I take this opportunity to thank you very kindly for your patient con- sideration in this matter, and again apologize for the oversight in our procedures. If there are any further questions, please advise. Very Cordially, SUMNICHT SUPPLY COMPANY Victor Sumnicht VS /ag Enc.
