HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-98MARCH 8, 2011 11 -98 RESOLUTION (CARRIED 7 -0 LOST LAID OVER WITHDRAWN ) PURPOSE: AWARD BID TO L & S TRUCK CENTER FOR 3/4 TON CREW CAB PICKUP TRUCK WITH LIFT GATE & PLOW FOR PARKS DEPARTMENT ($34,988.00) INITIATED BY: PURCHASING DIVISION WHEREAS, the City of Oshkosh has heretofore advertised for bids for one (1) 3/4 ton crew cab pickup truck with lift gate and plow for the Parks Department; and WHEREAS, upon the opening and tabulation of bids, it appears that the following is the most advantageous bid: L & S TRUCK CENTER 330 N. Bluemound Rd. Appleton, WI 54914 2011 Ford F250 CC -- Bid with trade: $34,988.00 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Oshkosh that the said bid is hereby accepted and the proper City officials are hereby authorized and directed to enter into an appropriate agreement for the purpose of same, all according to plans, specifications, and bid on file. Box 1130 Oshkosh, 54903-1130 City of Oshkosh — OfHKOIH TO: Honorable Mayor and Members of the Common Council FROM: Jon Urben, General Services Director DATE: February 25, 2011 RE: Parks Department 3 /4 Ton Crew Cab Pickup Truck with Lift Gate and Plow BACKGROUND The Common Council approved and allocated $46,000 in the 2011 CIP to purchase a 3 /4 ton crew cab pickup truck with lift gate and plow. This new truck will replace a 1997 Chevrolet S10 pickup with 128,000 miles that requires repairs that exceed the value of the unit. The new unit will be used for a variety of Parks operations and will come with a three year /36,000 miles basic warranty and a five year /60,000 miles powertrain warranty. ANALYSIS Working in conjunction with the Parks Department, Purchasing reviewed and prepared proposals seeking vendors for this unit. Bid requests were sent to vendors who have received invitations to bids in previous years. In addition the bids were advertised in the local paper and posted online on NovusVendor. Bids were received February 14, 2011. The bid tabulation is attached. Working with the Parks Department, Purchasing reviewed the sole bid received from L & S Truck Center and concluded it meets the minimum bid specifications. FISCAL IMPACT With trade -in this unit will have a net fiscal impact of $34,988. This item was budgeted in the 2011 CIP major equipment replacement at $46,000. Funding for this item would be charged to CIP account: 323 - 0610- 7210 - 06108. RECOMMENDATION Purchasing recommends the Common Council award the bid to L & S Truck Center for $34,988.
