These plans have NOT been reviewed for conformance to the Plumbing Code (chs. COMM 81 -86), the Electrical Code (ch.COMM 16) and any COMM code not specifically mentioned. This approval is not a Building Permit. Necessary city permits must be secured before commencing work. You are hereby advised that the owner, as defined in Chapter 101.01 (I) of the Wisconsin State Statutes, is responsible for all code requirements not specifically cited herein. Code requirements are set forth in Chapters 50 through 69 of the rules of the Department of Commerce. The building will be inspected during construction and a final inspection will be made after completion to insure compliance with city and state codes. The architect, professional engineer, builder or owner shall keep at the building, as evidence of approval, one set of plans bearing the stamp of approval. I understand your concern was not having enough exit width adjacent to the entrance and box office. The Marcus Corporation had informed us of your concern when we began working on this project last year and we reviewed the exit requirements and distribution at that time. The attached diagram shows the required aggregate exit width for each auditorium and lobby with a flow direction to the various exit corridors and doors. To begin, the required aggregate exit width is 1,001 inches and we have provided 1,212 inches. (As shown initially on the "Building Code Design Data" on Sheet T1), based upon an occupant load of 2,001. (Comm. 51.15 (6) (b) (2) Type No. 5 through 8 Construction Unsprinklered, 50 inches per 100 persons. 2001 4- 100 x 50" = 1000.5). The current occupant load of 2,001 people reflects the current seat count after the stadium seating retrofits of the year 2000 (1,613 seats, 12 employees, 3 projectionists and 373 people in the lobby totaling 2,001 occupants). The existing quantity of doors was a result of exit calculations prior to seat reduction for the stadium seating retrofits. However, we have not reduced the quantity of doors, thus the excess of 211" of aggregate exit width. • In conclusion there is adequate exit width considering the excess of 211" of aggregate exit width (1,212 inches provided minus 1001 inches required = 211 inches excess), and the distribution shown at the entrance and box office area.
