There is no objection to installing a 251 electric dryer in this root and you may proceed with the installation of thin piece of equlipment. The reason we questioned the dryer installation was because we received a report that it was the intention to install a 5O# gas dryer in this room. th the basis of that report, we wrote your architect and explained that if a 50# gas dryer is installed in the laundry it shall be isolated from other areas by a two -hour fire resistive enclosure or better. M. Schober RE: Plans for Catholic High School, Oshkosh, Wisconsin Plan File 58 -E -52 Dear Mr. Schober: This is to advise that we have received an inspection, report from Mr. VanHandel indicating that stairway #2 in t he above mentioned project is not enclosed in the basement and that the enclosure is not shown on the plans. In checking back ou the plans we find teat this stairway extends from the basement to the second floor. Since the stairway extends from the basement to the top floor it is required under section Izad 56.06(2) to be enclosed at the basement level with a 1 -hour, fire- resistive partition and door or better. We understand that this building is not yet completed and we would appreciate it if you would arrange to have this enclosure provided before the contractor leaves the job. We are sorry that we failed to call this to your attentio.A when the plans were examined. Mr. VaaHa:.del also reported that it is the intention to install a 50-pound capacity gas -fired dryer in the laundry rooe. We do not seem to be able to locate the laundry room on the plans but if commercial -sire laundry and dryer e uipment is to be installed, the laundry should be isolated from oter area by a 2 -hour, fire- resistive enclosure or better.
