REFERENCE FOR DEC 7 GOAL SETTING SESSION
E &E Board Working Groups
Membership & Expectations
Public Awareness Working Group (Goal #1)
Board members: Stolley, Davey, Mitchell
Expectations:
Meet as needed to address the following goal & objectives:
1. Enhance Communication With The General Public In The City Of Oshkosh Regarding:
a. Current and future sustainability initiatives and efforts; and
b. Sustainability concepts and behavioral changes people can make at home and at
work.
2. Objectives:
a. Complete website
b. Promote website
c. Establish protocols for updating website
d. Address new items that fall under this goal as needed
Greenhouse Gas Emissions Working Group (Goal #2)
Board members: Barney, Hardy, Sabai
Expectations:
Meet as needed to address the following goal & objectives:
1. Identify Strategies To Recommend To City Council On The Best Ways Oshkosh Can
Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions
2. Objectives:
a. Complete ICLEI milestone #1, measuring GHG emissions for municipal
properties and fleets
b. Complete ICLEI milestone #1, measuring GHG emissions for the community as a
whole
c. Complete ICLEI milestone #2, set targets
d. Conduct a sustainability baseline assessment for other aspects of Oshkosh
Sustainability Planning Steering Committee (Goal #3)
Board members: Davey, Scalpone, Stolley
Expectations:
Serve on the Sustainability Plan Steering Committee; update E &E Board with the status of that
work; share ideas between the E &E Board and the Steering Committee as needed.

Transportation Working Group (Goal #4)
Board members: Breest, Barney
Expectations:
Meet as needed to address the following goal & objectives:
1. Promote Sustainable Public Transportation Options: Bikes, Shares, Carpooling, One Stop
Call Centers, Solar Power, Biodiesel Buses, etc.
2. Objectives:
a. Connect with transportation advisory board
b. Work with UWO Transportation and Sustainability Council on campus initiatives
c. Review draft bicycle /pedestrian plan and prepare formal input.
Water Resources Working Group (Goal #5)
Board members: Sabai, Mitchell, Scalpone
Expectations:
Meet as needed to address the following goal & objectives:
1. Protect, Conserve And Sustain Our Local Water Resources; Support Recreational Use Of
Our Water.
2. Objectives:
a. Monitor results of beach testing program.
b. Collaborate on Miller's Bay chemical reduction and habitat restoration project.
c. Develop a proposal for a natural area in the northern section of Menominee Park
d. Develop a water conservation brochure to mail with water bill.
e. Identify water resource issues with city staff and area agencies
City Departments Communication Working Group (Goal #6)
Board members: Hardy, Palmeri
Expectations:
Meet as needed to address the following goal & objectives:
1. Increase Communication Between And Amongst Appropriate City Committees,
Departments And Staff And The E &E Board.
2. Objectives:
a. Contact chairs of other boards; offer TNS orientation; collaborate on
sustainability issues;
b. Arrange to have staff from city departments meet with EE Board; Discuss how
EE Board can work with staff on sustainability issues.
