Gohde, Assistant Director of Public Works DATE: January 19, 2011 RE: Change Order #1 for Public Works Contract No. 10 -25; for Vinton Construction Co. for Concrete Paving / Street Patching / Sidewalk / Utilities (- $73,223.90) BACKGROUND Change Order #1 for Contract 10 -25 is scheduled for consideration by the Common Council at the January 25, 2011 meeting. The contract was originally awarded to Vinton Construction Co. in September of 2010. This change order is for additional work required to complete the contract and removes work for the project that was not able to be completed. ANALYSIS Following is a summary of the significant additional work items performed for each section of the CIP. - Street/Sidewalk — Sidewalk on 9th Ave was not installed due to the need to acquire additional right of way. - Sanitary Sewer — Additional pipe was repaired and additional chimney seals were installed. -Storm Sewer — Storm sewer work on 9 Ave was not completed due to the elimination of the sidewalk installation. We are able to do additional paving and utility work beyond what was budgeted due to other projects coming in under budget or not being constructed (Washburn Street resurfacing).
