HomeMy WebLinkAbout1998- Letter (Zoning) CITY HALL 215 Church Avenue P. 0. Box 1130 Oshkosh, Wisconsin City of Oshkosh March 25, 1998 OfHKOIH ON THE WATER Salzieders Service Station 103 North Sawyer Street Oshkosh, Wisconsin 54901 Dear Manager /Owner: This letter is a follow up to previous correspondence that was sent to your business regarding signs being placed at various gasoline stations and convenience stores in the City of Oshkosh without first obtaining the appropriate building permit as required by the City of Oshkosh Zoning Ordinance. Generally the signs for which permits have not been obtained appear to be banners, spring boards, and temporary attachments to various poles on the property. Also, in some cases signs are located within City owned right -of -way. In many instances it appears that beverage and cigarette vendors are putting up these signs, however, it is still the responsibility of the business owner and ultimately the property owner to make sure that the property is in compliance with the Ordinance. Your property is one of those which is still in violation of the Ordinance. To resolve the violations, those signs which are in the right -of -way must be removed immediately, and permits must be obtained for those signs for which you have not already obtained permits. I will be inspecting your property on or about April 13, 1998 and if the violations have not been resolved, a citation can be issued and the violation turned over to the City Attorney's office for appropriate legal action. We are looking forward to your cooperation and if you have any questions, or if I can help you resolve these issues, I can be contacted at 920.236.5059. Sincerely, CITY OF OSHKOSH ✓John C.
