Dear Mrs. Mueller:
This letter is confirming our phone conversation of
February llth, 1969.
You inquired as to placing a pet shop and pet grooming
service in a building located in the C -3 Commercial
District. Section 10.062 of the City Zoning Ordinance
allows animal hospitals and pet shops excluding open
kennels.
You stated that your proposed building would include
outside runs for dogs housed within the pet shop. On
discussing your proposed use with the City Attorney,
it was concluded that this would not be considered an
open kennel. Therefore, your proposed use is an
allowed use in the C- 3,Commercial District, providing
the dogs are housed within the pet shop.

OTHER COMMENTS:
The City of Oshkosh Zoning Ordinance does not permit open kennels in the C -3
Commercial District. This fact was noted on building permit #6955 (copy attached)
when the building was constructed.
To be in compliance with the Zoning Ordinance, the kennels must be removed
IMMEDIATELY.
