This event, now entering its third year, promotes community wellness and financially benefits the YMCA's and Boys & Girls Clubs throughout northeast Wisconsin. Please note that due to community feedback the start / finish area will be moved to the north side of Oshkosh West High School. Please contact us if you have any questions. Sincerely, Sean Ryan Executive Race Director (920) 606 -2458 Shauna Coleman Regional Race Director (920) 279 -8695 i REQUEST TO OSHKOSH CITY COUNCIL ABOUT THE EVENT The purpose of the Festival Foods Turkey Trots are to promote a healthy community, financially benefit local charities and attract positive media attention to the grocery retailer. In 2008, Festival Foods launched Turkey Trots in Green Bay, Appleton and Oshkosh. Last year, the event expanded to Manitowoc and Fond du Lac. In the past two years, the event has raised more than $140,000 for Boys & Girls Clubs and YMCA's in these communities. This year, the event expands to Eau Claire. ABOUT THE OSHKOSH TURKEY TROT Last year the Oshkosh Turkey Trot took place at Oshkosh West High School with the registration and packet pick up taking place in the gymnasium. The event attracted 1,557 participants - 586 in the 5 -mile run and 971 in the 2 -mile walk. TURKEY TROT Approval to Festival Foods to utilize North Eagle Street, Adams Avenue, Taft Avenue, North Campbell Road, Witzel Avenue, Wisconsin Street, Pearl Avenue, High Avenue, Ohio Street, West 5 th Avenue, South Eagle Street, Southland Avenue and Josslyn Street, on Thursday, November 25, 2010, from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., for the 3 rd Annual Turkey Trot 2/5K Run/Walk, in accordance with the attached letter of request.
