Bob stated that the installers were -on site to correct mechanical • concerns and they were instructed by him to leave the electrical concerns to the electrical contractor, They stated they do this work all the time. Note: An 8/5/10 conversation with Kevin Ciabatti allowed the use of flexible cord with the project because itis listed with this 'wiring method by UL. GENERAL CHARACTER AND USE These products are intended to control motors that are used to extend and retract spectator seating systems. For certain products, the control systems also raises and lowers, for stacking purposes, unoccupied seating units. Operation is controlled by a detachable control pendant or a key switch. *RATINGS: Electrical - The control system has a max. rating of 600 V ac @ 20A. Environmental - The enclosures are rated Type 1. File E160665 Vol.. 1 Sec. 1 Page 1A Issued: 1994 -07 -07 and Report New: 2010 -05 -27 TECHNICAL CONSIDERATIONS (NOT FOR FIELD REPRESENTATIVE USE): CNL Indicates that product also complies with Canadian Standard CSA C22..2 No 14 -M91 Industrial Control Equipment. MARKING: Each control system shall bear a nameplate containing Listee's name, the product identification and system ratings. The nameplate will be located on the main control panel_ The control system has a max rating of 600 V ac 20A. The control pendant or key switch enclosure shall be marked to caution the operator to verify that no one is on or under the platform while the seating unit is in motion. SPACINGS: In accordance with Table 34.1 Column A of UL 508. GROUNDING: Motor Circuits - Each motor circuit cable will be provided with an integral grounding conductor. These conductors will be grounded to a common point at each panel. Control Circuits - One side of each control circuit will be grounded. Control Panels - Interkal, Part Nos 181110, 181112, 181114 and 181175, constructed as shown in Fig. 1. Ratings and protection schemes shall correlate with those of the associated motors. All control circuits, i e limit switches and the control pendant are supplied by a Class 2 power source. Control circuit configured such that system will be inoperable unless control pendant is plugged into its mating receptacle located on the front panel of the seating section or the key switch is closed. Cover of enclosure is secured by screws. 2_ Control Pendant - Shall be electrically located in Class 2 control circuit See Marking for cautionary markings. Alternate - Similar to above except a Listed or R/C momentary switch is connected in series with the key switch 3. The following items are supplied by a Class 2 power source Warning System - Optional - Listed or R/C warning light and audible alarm, located on upper rear member of seating section, are activated when control pendant is plugged in, or when the main disconnect switch or key switch is closed.. Strobe Light - Any Listed or R/C strobe light Alarm - Any Listed or R/C alarm. *Bridge Rectifier - R/C (QQQX2) Fairchild Semiconductor, Model GBPC12005, rated 50 V, 12 A, 150C Junction Temperature. Cable Routing - Cable will be routed away from pinch points and sharp edges. Cables will be secured to the system structure with vinyl coated metal straps or nylon straps intended for the purpose. The maximum unsupported length of cable is 80 in. 6. Cable Protection - Where cables are routed near the drive chain or other moving parts, they must be protected from physical damage by metallic chain guards or the equivalent. 7. Cable Fittings - All cable entrances to either the control panels or motor wiring compartments will be made with Listed or Recognized strain relief fittings suitable for intended use 8. Drive Units - Two drive units are available, Accupower and the nonfriction power system. Each unit shall possess the following features: A. Motor - R/C (XEWR2), Thermally protected. B. GENERAL: Test results relate only to the items tested.. No tests were performed on the utilization of any Listed or R/C strobe light and alarm and R/C (QQQX2) bridge rectifier, rated 600 V, 12 A, 125 ° C minimum utilized in the Spectator Seating Control System because these components are supplied by a Class 2 source, Only limited tests were performed on the control box part nos. 181110, 181112, 181114 and 181175 utilized in the Spectator Seating Control System due to the use of Listed and Recognized Products being used within their individual ratings to construct the control boxes. The following tests were conducted. Dielectricvoltage Withstand Test Dielectric Strength Par. 49.1, 73c, 77b Ul 508 17th Ed. (Can /Csa C22.2 No. 14 -2005) (Clause 6.8) Temperature Test Sec. 43, 73a, 77a (Clause 6.2) The following tests were conducted in accordance with UL508 and are considered representative of the same tests required by Canadian National Standard, CAN /CSA C22.2 No. 14 -2005. The test methods and results of the above tests have been reviewed and found to comply with the requirements in the Standard for Industrial Control Equipment, UL 508.
