HomeMy WebLinkAbout10-241AUGUST 10, 2010 10 -241 RESOLUTION (CARRIED 6 -0 LOST LAID OVER WITHDRAWN ) PURPOSE: AWARD BID TO WERNER ELECTRIC SUPPLY FOR RIVERSIDE PARK RIVER WALK LIGHTING FIXTURES ($43,883.92) INITIATED BY: PURCHASING DIVISION WHEREAS, the City of Oshkosh has heretofore advertised for bids for pedestrian lighting poles and pathway bollards for the Riverside Park River Walk; and WHEREAS, upon the opening and tabulation of bids, it appears that the following is the most advantageous bid: Werner Electric Supply 2341 Industrial Drive Neenah, WI 54956 Total Bid: $43,883.92 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Oshkosh that the said bid is hereby accepted and the proper City officials are hereby authorized and directed to enter into an appropriate agreement for the purpose of same, all according to plans, specifications, and bid on file. Box 1130 Oshkosh, 9 0 3 - 1 1 1 3 0 54 City of Oshkosh —0— 903 -130 O rHKO/-H TO: Honorable Mayor and Members of the Common Council FROM: Jon Urben, General Services Director DATE: August 4, 2010 RE: Riverside Park River Walk Lighting Fixtures BACKGROUND As part of the Riverside Park River Walk project the Parks Department must purchase pedestrian lighting poles and pathway bollards for exterior lighting of the area. A total of 10 pedestrian lighting fixtures and 16 pathway bollard fixtures were requested in this bid. ANALYSIS Working in conjunction with the Electrical Division, Purchasing reviewed and prepared proposals seeking vendors for these lighting fixtures. The bids were advertised in the local paper and posted online on NovusVendor. Bids were received on July 19, 2010. The bid tab is attached. Working with the Electrical Division, Purchasing reviewed the bids and concluded the low bid from Werner Electric Supply met the minimum bid specifications. The lighting fixtures will have a five year standard warranty and a 10 year warranty on the finish. The fixtures are expected to arrive in 8 -10 weeks after purchase. FISCAL IMPACT The total fiscal impact of these fixtures is $43,883.92. These items were budgeted as part of the direct purchase cost budget of the River Walk project. Funding for this item would be charged to account: 323-0740-7216-06020. RECOMMENDATION Purchasing recommends the Common Council award the River Walk Lighting Fixtures bid to Werner Electric Supply for $43,883.92.
