RE: Riverside Park River Walk Lighting Fixtures
BACKGROUND
As part of the Riverside Park River Walk project the Parks Department must purchase pedestrian
lighting poles and pathway bollards for exterior lighting of the area. A total of 10 pedestrian
lighting fixtures and 16 pathway bollard fixtures were requested in this bid.
ANALYSIS
Working in conjunction with the Electrical Division, Purchasing reviewed and prepared proposals
seeking vendors for these lighting fixtures. The bids were advertised in the local paper and
posted online on NovusVendor. Bids were received on July 19, 2010. The bid tab is attached.
Working with the Electrical Division, Purchasing reviewed the bids and concluded the low bid
from Werner Electric Supply met the minimum bid specifications. The lighting fixtures will have
a five year standard warranty and a 10 year warranty on the finish. The fixtures are expected to
arrive in 8 -10 weeks after purchase.
FISCAL IMPACT
The total fiscal impact of these fixtures is $43,883.92. These items were budgeted as part of the
direct purchase cost budget of the River Walk project. Funding for this item would be charged to
account: 323-0740-7216-06020.
RECOMMENDATION
Purchasing recommends the Common Council award the River Walk Lighting Fixtures bid to
Werner Electric Supply for $43,883.92. Please contact Parks Director Ray Maurer or myself if
you have any questions.
Respectfully Submitted,
