FOR WASTEWATER UTILITY HEATING & VENTILATION IMPROVE- MENTS (- $1,504.00) INITIATED BY: DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Oshkosh that the following Change Order, a copy of which is attached, is hereby approved: B &P MECHANICAL INC. 3200 W. Brand, Utilities Superintendent July 7, 2010 Change Order #2 for Wastewater Treatment Plant Contract No. 09 -10; Heating and Ventilation Improvements Various Locations BACKGROUND Change Order #2 for Contract 09 -10 is scheduled for consideration by the Common Council at the July 13, 2010 meeting. The contract was originally awarded to B &P Mechanical, Inc. of Appleton in April of 2009. This change order is a deduct for work done to resolve issues encountered during the start up and commissioning if the new HVAC equipment. ANALYSIS These changes were reviewed by Matthew Merten, from Strand and Associates, our consultant on the project and found to be reasonable based on his experience with similar work. FISCAL IMPACT This project is being funded through the 2009 Equipment Replacement Section (Wastewater Utility Funds) of the Capital Improvement Budget. RECOMMENDATIONS I recommend approval of the Change Order # 2 to Contact No. 09 -10 in the amount of a deduct of $1,504.00 to B &P Mechanical Inc. Respectfully Submitted, t MJR ,Y Step an M. Description of Change 2a Owner's cost to have sheave installed on the DEDUCT ($1,165.00) blower motor and the burner modified for MAU -I at Broad Street Lift Station so the makeup air unit would operate according to the Contract Documents. 2b Owner's cost to balance the blower motor DEDUCT ($ 339.00) sheave for RTU -1 at the Headworks Building to resolve the unit's vibration issue.
